Sorry I wasn't brave enough to log on to my forum alt.
I just love seeing these threads from people who've never encountered Goonswarm anywhere other than the forums, and the conspiracy theories about the CSM and manipulation are just adorable. Goons and the CFC rely a lot on new characters and use shield fleet doctrines, the CSM asks CCP to nerf the Drake. Goonswarm and PL are on the CSM, they both hold lots of Tech moons, the CSM asks CCP to address the Technetium bottleneck in T2 production. Clearly it's a conspiracy driven by self interest. |

What metagame? You mean alliances that recruit from outside of the game?
It's true that the CSM is dominated by nullsec alliances, that's because nullsec alliances have to be more organized than highsec entities, purely by virtue of living in nullsec. So they're the ones that produce candidates and vote in blocs. Personally I'm not aware of any highsec candidates for the CSM, even from Ivy League which as far as I know I think is the largest highsec based entity in the game, along with maybe RvB's alliances.
There was a time when the CSM consisted of highsec members, during that time they got it into their silly little heads to try to remove jumpbridges from sovholding allinaces because of some nonsense over force projection. There was a backlash and a compromise so we still have them but only one per starsystem. So ever since nullsec alliances realised that the CSM has the power to screw them over they have chosen to start paying attention to it, and under the onslaught of their vague interest in the CSM highsec hasn't been able to get in anymore.
We can't help it if 80% of the players in the game simply aren't interested enough in the CSM to produce candidates or vote. |
